Can you describe them?
a. Tomb: A small building or "vault" for the remains of the dead
b. Afterlife: Life after death
c. Dehydrate: To dry out
d.Embalming: To treat a dead body with preservatives to keep it looking lifelike
e.Hieroglyphics: ancient Egyptian writing system using pictures to represent words or syllables
f. Papyrus: a reed that grew in ancient Egypt that was cut into strips, pressed together, pounded, and dried to make sheets which were written on
g. Pharaoh: the supreme ruler of ancient Egypt
h.Priest/Priestess: In Egypt, Priests were the servants of the gods who performed daily rituals to honor them.
i. Pyramid: a masonry structure (built with units of block) with triangle sides and come to a point, usually built as a tomb for pharaohs and their possessions
j. Scribe: The only Egyptian who could read and write the sacred hieroglyphs in temples and tombs and who kept government records and wrote letters for the pharaoh.
